Certified Exit Planning Advisor, collaborative lawyer, mediator, arbitrator, lecturer and teacher, Amy Wirtz brings 23 years’ experience, creativity and her own distinctive approach to her consulting business.

Ms. Wirtz has a passion for business and enjoys working with entrepreneurs.  Ms. Wirtz has been an owner in a law firm for the majority of her legal career. Many of her clients own closely held businesses and she is well versed in the complexities of running a business.  Additionally, she serves on the Advisory Board for Agtech LLC located in Bryan, Ohio.

Ms. Wirtz has been a member of the North East Ohio Exit Planning Institute since its formation. She is an instructor for the Exit Planning Institute in Chicago, Illinois. She received her Certified Exit Planning Advisor status after completing the week long program and passing the exam in May of 2014.

Ms. Wirtz has been a certified collaborative lawyer for over ten years and a mediator for over five years. Both of these certifications require extensive training in interest-based negotiations, listening skills, reframing and alternate dispute resolutions. She attended the University of Toledo for her undergraduate schooling where she received a bachelor in secondary education. She attended Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and received a Juris Doctorate in 1992. She is a member of the Ohio State Bar since November of 1992.

Presentations and Honors
Ms. Wirtz was a presenter at the Ohio State University Extension Woman in Agriculture Conference in March 2015 where she presented “What is the Role of the Chief Family Officer (C.F.O.) in Managing the Family Farm? How do matriarchs help manage the family relationships and protect the family farm successfully?” In November of 2014, she presented in Cleveland Ohio to the local chapter of the NACVA in November of 2014 on “Exit Planning and are the Baby Boomers ready?”

She is a past President of the Center for Principled Family Advocacy; teaches attorneys, divorce coaches, financial and health care professionals the Collaborative Divorce process. She teaches continuing education classes at Case Western Reserve University and teaches private continuing education classes to counselors, attorneys and financial professionals. She has been a guest lecture at Oberlin College and has taught at the Ohio Judicial College. In 2014, she served as a Facilitator to assist the Cuyahoga County Domestic Judges in defining the strategic plan for their court.

Ms. Wirtz has been a presenter at the IACP Forum (2009) and the 2011 National Employment Assistance Providers World Convention.  Her article on the Cost of Divorce for Employers was published in the July/ August 2012 Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Journal.
